Cambridge Worldwide Academy was pleased to welcome a team from a local Good Neighbours education project on the 5th of November 2019. Good Neighbours Internationalis, a UN approved international educational and humanitarian NGO based in Seoul, South Korea. Good Neighbours –Tajikistan had requested CWA to host a group of state school students for a short study tour. The purpose of this visit was for meritorious students from economically challenged sections of the Tajik society to see and experience our world class facilities and interact with some of our experienced international teaching staff.
The GNT team was led by Anisa Marambekova, Education Officer and Miss Shahnoza, a former CWA employee. The children were given a guided tour of the school by Mrs Gavhar Khamroeva, HR Officer at CWA and were able to visit various classes and experience mini lessons taught by CWA staff.
They were absolutely enthralled by the Reception demo class and teaching resources of Ms Rosario Fusilero. They also sat spellbound in the Year One phonics snippet facilitated by Mrs Sunanda Kapoor. They came alive later and bombarded both, Mr Leo Mulqueen, our Art Teacher, and Mr Belben Gaspar, our IELTS expert with questions about art, exams and cross-cultural experiences of life and work in Tajikistan. Other facilities visited were the Art studio, Music studio, Library and Reading room.
The tour ended in our cafeteria and they were very enthused with motivational speeches about Tajik history and resurgence given by Mr Bobur our Tajik History teacher. They were equally inspired by our reception teacher, Mrs Zahina’s talk on the need for self-motivation, desire for growth and goal setting for success. We were happy to see the students energised by what they saw and experienced at CWA and we believe that many a spark had been lit in their hearts for a positive change. We hope to welcome them again as well as other students who wish to learn from our school best practice and hopefully implement some of our good practice.
